TCM Power Principles

What Went Wrong...

In 1913 the U.S. was the manufacturing center of the world and so it was thought, according to F.W. Taussig, Ph.D., who in 1914 wrote The Tariff History of the United States and on Page 447 mockingly wrote, “It was worth while…to put an end to the superstition that all prosperity was dependen
t on the maintenance of a rigid protective tariff.” There were “…predictions of general disaster, of collapse for all manufacturing enterprises, of destruction to the American standard of living.”

By the early 1900s the federal government was seeking more revenue to cure its deficits (imagine that!), so in 1913
three things occurred that caused a massive transfer of money and power from the states and local communities to the federal government: Ratification of the 16th Amendment; Ratification of the 17th Amendment and creation of the Federal Reserve.

Via the 16th Amendment, the tariff system (tax on imported goods) was cast aside for the income tax (tax on personal wealth creation). Those
very things mocked by Taussig are now upon us: Our manufacturing has collapsed, the American standard of living is declining and general disaster is looming.

Until these events are reversed and power returned to the states and local communities, the empire that resulted from these occurrences will lead to the destruction of the Republic.

We also need to respect the rights of The Common Man, including his private property and enterprise.

The bad news? Things are worse than they appear. Either the Republicans and Democrats truly don’t know what’s going on, or they are being deceptive. Neither is a good scenario.

So what do we do?

Re-enact TCM Power Principles...

When Mel Valkner ran for U.S. Congress in the fall of 2010 he wasn't interested in just pointing out our problems. Lots of people were doing that. He wanted real answers. So he spent 2,000 hours searching for Constitutional Solutions to the nation's problems and came up with TCM (The Common Man) Power Principles.

His new book THE COMMON MAN offers comprehensive explanations of how the States and the People can take back power. See the points summarized below:

Ben Franklin said, “It therefore astonishes me, Sir, to find this system approaching so near to perfection as it does; and I think it will astonish our enemies, who are waiting with confidence to hear that our councils are confounded like those of the Builders of Babel.”
