Party Platform Comparison

Informed Voting...

Before any intelligent vote can be rendered on behalf of a candidate it is vital to understand the party platform which they represent, for these are the views that a party’s candidate will generally adhere to and promote.

However, there is something extremely troubling, ominous and dangerous...yet very subtle...heard from Democrats and Republicans. President Barack Obama speaking in San Francisco at a Democratic fundraiser said, “I believe in a two-party system where ideas are tested and assumptions are challenged because that's how we move this country forward.” This was later echoed by Mississippi Republican Governor Haley Barbour.

The U.S. federal government is not a “two-party system.” It is true that over the years the system has been designed to make it very difficult for a third party to win while members of of the two big parties often flip from Democrat to Republican and Republican to Democrat. They even endorse each other when threatened by a third party as in New York.

But the National Debt Clock shows how well the “two-party system” has managed the past. Our future cannot belong to them. We must have courage to renew our Constitutional Republic.

Yet we often re-elect incumbents because of gerrymandering, the way districts are mapped thereby thwarting renewal and entrenching partisan corruption. The people have got to rise above the fray and become informed voters to bring about the required change.
